Possession of a master's degree, such as MSc, MPhil, MTech, or MEng, which is awarded after the completion of a four-year bachelor's degree. 3. Attainment of a minimum of 67% or 8.5/10 in your academic scores. Placements

This course aims to adequately prepare students for a 150-hour practicum at a company specializing in immigration and settlement policy, programmes, or services. During the Winter semester, students will have the opportunity to apply and test their classroom learnings in practical settings, such as immigrant-serving organizations, newcomer community groups, schools, and government agencies. In addition, students will attend presentations by industry professionals to gain insights into policy-making, service delivery, and advocacy. The practicum will typically take place in the Spring/Summer semester, with some flexibility to accommodate individual needs and goals. The main purpose of the practicum is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world experiences, enabling students to develop the necessary skills for success in the field, such as a deep understanding of organizational culture, policies, practices, and interpersonal dynamics. Additionally, students will gain knowledge of current challenges facing immigrant-serving organizations, as well as key concepts such as diversity, power, privilege, and injustice. The practicum also offers students the chance to explore their personal identity, values, and self-directed learning opportunities. Finally, students will also develop essential skills like time management, prioritization, and building professional connections.
