About the University

The University of Guelph is one of the best research universities in Ontario, Canada. It was established in 1964, after the commandment of Ontario Agriculture College and Ontario Veterinary College. The university is affiliated with the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), International Association of Universities (IAU), Council of Ontario Universities (COU), Ontario Network of Women in engineering and Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). It is ranked #581-590 in QS Global World Rankings 2022. In 2020, U of G ranks in the Top 400 in the World and Top 15 in Canada.

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses Green grass and a mix of modern and traditional architecture characterize the University's open, welcoming campus. Victorian towers, modern concrete, glass, and steel, hand-hewn century limestone, brick walkways, landscaped plazas, and a 165-hectare Arboretum are among the highlights of the 330-hectare (817-acre) complex. The university has since grown to include more than 3,200 students, and over 1,500 faculty as of fall 2018. The University of Guelph provides 6 associate degrees, 94 graduate degrees, and 48 graduate programs in various disciplines. There are 24,000 full-time undergraduates, 3,200 part-time undergraduates, 2,700 full-time graduates, and 220 part-time graduates grasping education from the university. The main university campus of Guelph University spans 1,017 acres, including 408 acres of the University of Guelph Arboretum, and 30 acres of the research park. University of Guelph offers more than 100 programs, which are in the fields of biological science, business and economics, physical and engineering science, social and applied human science, agriculture, computer science, engineering, English and theatre studies, environmental design, language and literature, hospitality and tourism management, and more. Student Diversity and Visiting Companies The University of Guelph has more than 30,000 students enrolled. There were 23,926 full-time and 2,962 part-time students among the 26,888 undergraduates. As of 2019, there were 2,830 full-time and 205 part-time graduate students. International students made up 4.4% of undergraduates and 18.9% of graduates at the university. Two major student organizations exist at the university: the Central Student Association for undergraduates and the Graduate Students' Association for graduate students. Women accounted for 60.3 percent of the entire student body. Scotiabank, RBC, Deloitte, Amazon, and Shopify are among the top employers of graduates.
